  ARE YOU CONSIDERING PURCHASING INSURANCE FROM LIBERTY NATIONAL? YOU MAY WANT TO RECONSIDER. I have three policies with Liberty National. Two (2) whole life policies for my wife and one (1) decreasing term policy on myself. I purchased the decreasing term policy under the advise of my then "agent" in case something happened to me my house would be paid for so my wife wouldn't be forced to deal with it. I was assured by my agent that there would ALWAYS be enough money in the term policy to pay my mortgage off. Knowing nothing about insurance and trusting what my agent told me to be true, I kept making payments on all of my policies, never missing a payment. I received a telephone call from Liberty National this morning, the first time I've heard from ANYONE from Liberty National (INCLUDING MY AGENT) in seven (7) years. They advised me my name had come up because I "haven't been contacted in a while". They're right. SEVEN YEARS with no contact is "a while". As they were going over my policies, they told me my term policy was down to at least $30K below what my house would pay off for at the present time.. Again, my agent had assured me there would ALWAYS be enough money in the policy to pay my mortgage off should something happen to me. I won't resort to name-calling, but this was simply not true. Anything to sell a policy. The gentleman I spoke to (I'll just put his initials, M.M.) told me he would call me right back. His return telephone call never arrived. Par for the course (my agent golfs. He'll appreciate that one). Over the last 7 years I have paid a total of almost $15K in premiums on my three policies. I am now facing having to go to another company to TRY to find a whole life policy that will get me hopefully CLOSE to the point of paying my house off in the event of my death. As I am now 65 years of age, that is going to come at a tremendous cost in monthly premiums, a cost that I'm probably not going to be able to afford. When calling the Liberty National Insurance office in Dalton, GA I was told the Manager of the Dalton office would call me right back as soon as he returned from the Post Office. When speaking to the agency owner hours later, nothing was resolved concerning the decreasing term policy being adjusted to make me whole again. To even get me close to having enough to pay my mortgage in the event of my demise, I was forced to purchase another whole life policy. Is this something you want to go through? Think about it before going with Liberty National. Are they dependable? NO. Do they care about and take care of their policy holders after the sale? NO. Are they straight with you when trying to sell a policy? NO. Are they high-pressure in their sales? YES. Do they keep in touch with you once your premiums start coming out? NO. Do they even go as far as returning a simple telephone call? NO. Is Liberty National a company you want to trust your life insurance needs to? I DON'T THINK SO. Is the service you receive from the agents in the Dalton, GA office indicative of all other insurance companies? I WOULD CERTAINLY HOPE NOT. I must add a "Congratulations" to my Agent (a person I don't desire to ever lay eyes on again, as he has caused me and my family a great financial hardship at this time of our lives for his own benefit). I did see in the newspaper where he received a Rolex watch as a token of the company's appreciation for being with the company so long. Ironic, isn't it? Everything stated above is the absolute truth. His total failure to contact me over the years can also be verified, because it is documented. Should you allow Liberty National a sacred place in your family? The bottom line is, it's your hard-earned money. You make the decision.
